Interior of 1916 Englander Building

The mezzanine and gallery. I've seen columns 20' high, like these painted white

Concept of what may have been inside the mezzanine level. Self-closing firedoors in place.

Second floor of 538 Johnson, facing the train yards and Varick Avenue. On the left is the elevator and stairwell.

interior 1916, without fire doors... there were windows of unknown size and design.
The ceiling is 17' at its highest point

These self-closing firedoors were installed to protect the new fire-proof concrete extension from the 1916 building
